58-64 fullsize chevy, will a long snout TH350 fit easily?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by REVEREND JAKE, May 12, 2010.

  1. I'm trying my hand at putting a 64 FO DO Biscayne back on the road. Found a decent TH-350 for a bill. It's a long snout out of an 82 pickup.

I've installed various ******s into these cars but never a truck ******. I'm concerned it may be too long considering the 2-piece driveshaft configurations.

Anyone already gone down this road?

I have a short shaft TH350 in a 64. That is a bolt in. I think the long shaft would put the yoke and u-joint into the Xframe tube.

  3. That's what I'm afraid of... I had a short shaft/snout in my 64 Super Sport. I just don't know if the long will work or not, hmmmmm...

I'd have to say no also. You'd have to pat to shorten and rebalance the driveshaft to make it work so just buy the short tail 350 and be done
