I have to satisfy my ADD and buy shiny stuff.

I dig around for cool 50's/Mid-century home stuff or toys. There was an awesome Japanese Tin Toy at the last swap I went too but the seller spent a little too much time on the auction site and jacked his price through the roof. Needless to say he went back home with the toy and not my money.

  6. Most of us hoard too much ****!~ Dig into you stash and ask youself, "self,do I really ever think I can use this"? Odds are the answer is no. Last swap I did that was GOOD. I also do it from time to time on the cl***ifieds here and other boards pertaining to my hobbies. Amazing how you can sell EVERYTHING and find more fodder the next week! DOH!

  18. Usually I just buy the parts I need for the project I am building. I also get every old Hot Rod/Car Craft magazine I can get my hands on.

Inert practice bombs, grenades and rockets are always on the list. Also metalflake steering wheels, Sun blue line gauges, Moon and Eelco stuff. Seems like these days I'm paying to park a lot, too.:(

License Plates!! Now that many states allow year of manufacture plates in lieu of historic, I find a good market for them. I'll pick them up if they're around $6 to $10 and in useable shape.

Tools top the list.... all kinds plus sawz-all blades and grinder disks, can never have too many vice grip or c-clamps also. Then comes shinny stuff nothing says i love you like chrome. Bottom of the list are actual car parts because they never seem fit the car I have.

I always buy O2 & A torches, gauges, etc. Preferably incomplete for cheap. then I p*** the time at my stall putting in new O rings, do a little polishing, and WOW, shiny torch sets! They sell really well. Pays for the other junk I buy when I'm there.:D

I have been setting up at the swapmeet for over 10 years ,and the best seller I have at everymeet is old tools that alot of the younger guys have no clue as to what they are.also emory cloth rolls and gasket material sells right quick.

  29. What do I buy? Anything I know I can sell for more.

What do I sell? Anything that's too big, too low of value, or otherwise not worth the time to put on eBay, stuff I just plain want to get rid of and don't give a **** about, and frankly a lot of **** I carry around that isn't worth my time to sell for what people who think it's still 1965 want to pay for it, so I carry it back and forth a lot.

And sometimes I resell stuff I bought at the swap meet, too. Last year at one I bought a bunch of books from a guy, figured to take them home and eBay them but put them out with a sign anyways. When a guy offered me about six times what I paid for them, I figured he could have them. And he gave me a card for his shop, so I'm sure they got sold again, who knows.

I buy stuff from people getting rid of items for which they don't know the value and sell to people on ebay who just have to have that same item for top dollar. I like 37 -54 Chevy stuff, but I've bought and sold all sorts of good junk.
