I also made a start on the fenders (the tube came from old stools) and made a start on the interior. Nearly there.

I think you may have issues with these breaking , furniture tubing is very fin ? Nice job all the same

Hi Bill The fenders are narrowed and shortened trailer mudguards I bought from ebay. The supports are from a stool "borrowed" from work. I made bosses and welded them onto the bottoms of the stool legs. I then made more bosses, tapped them and bolted them to the front backplates and welded them to the rear brake backplates. certainly one of the nicest "home builts" ive ever seen. your craftsmanship is amazing. you really finished this one nicely!! but i hate to inform you, the steering wheel is on the wrong side!!

Archie, Thanks for the info on the fenders- I've been looking at motorcycle fenders as a possibility, but I'll have to look into the trailer idea!
Beautiful work! Can't believe all the fine detail in the construction, thanks for sharing the process. As a side note, resourcefulness alone doesn't always achieve fantastic results. When the resourcefulness is alloyed with craft and creativity, then we have something as nice as this speedster. Well done.
Thanks for the kind comments. The point of building it was to learn how to work metal , use lead etc and to build a decent quality fun car as cheap as possible.
I have been pondering putting a buildup of my 29 RPU on here but this build sure put a stop to that.Great craftsmanship. Now I need more guts.
