    atta boy.

any pics of the frame without the body on it? I'm planning my frame and need inspiration, and maybe dimensions!

how low's it gonna be? Looks badass so far.

i can get you a shot of the frame later.

low? sure, but not too low. thinking of running a slight rake on it. (4" front to back.) that would put the lowest part of the front body at 5" off the ground. with the frame built like this, it's only gonna end up being channelled about frame deep.

this of course is all in theory. i've never done this, and am making it up as i go, with help from the hamb of course [IMG]

yeah, I dunno how low i want to make mine....that 16 inch kickup is big ass! I'm gonna do the cross spring in the back so I won't need a kickup like that. I want mine to be low, but I don't wanna have to worry about smacking my tranny or driveshaft going in people's shitty driveways.

lookin great....except i get the feeling that kickup is about 6" too much....once you complete the chassis your'e gonna need some mighty loooong coil springs to hold it where it is now.........

That's really looking good. Nice progress!
What are you planning on running for the drivetrain?
    Keep the updates coming.

  16. Right on man. Did you modify the previous frame, or start from scrathc again? Coils in the rear eh? I thought you were running a transverse for some reason...
Looking good. Throw some pics of the 389 mocked up in there!!!

Man this is one sweet ride!!! Do you have any pics of the frame w/out the body on it?
I'm about to start the frame work on my A sedan and I'm not sure if I should box the original frame or just build one out of square tubing?

    Keep up the good work!!

need to thank a few people. my buddies andre (no steak for you andre!) and chopper helped me put the frame together. a big thanks also to leadsledmerc. i've been following his build up, and got alot of inspiration (and measurements [IMG]) from him.

i'll pull the frame out sometime this weekend , and snap some pics then.

the drivetrain is gonna be a 1960 389 with tripower, and an auto of some sort. rear end is a 10 bolt posi with 3.73 gears. i'll place it between the rails tonight and take some shots.

as for the frame having too much kick, i don't think so. this is a brand new frame. the old one had a 14 in kick, and wasn't gonna be enough. when the motor is in and body on, the distance betweent the top of the axle and the bottome of the frame will only be about 7" or so. this frame was made to get the body way down, without a rediculous channel job. i can sit im the sucker fairly comfortably.

anyway, thanks again for the kind words. i'll keep posting pics as i make more progress.

andre and i have a bit of a bet going. the first guy with his hotrod project on the road (with april 1st being the deadline) gets a NICE steak dinner.

So damn, ya just shit-canned the frame we built last year? Sounds like a little bit more planning could have saved you some time and money. [IMG]Any how, the NEW one looks pretty good in the cowl area.

i was wondering when you were gonna say something kieth!! [IMG] you're right, better planning a year ago would have helped. i'm still fucking things up as i go.

don't you worry homie, the frame you built for me is sitting in my garage, just waiting for a supersecret project.

thanks leadsled, you've been a big help. you can see i kind of bastardized your plans. only one pinch, only a 3" Z, etc, but it should get the job done.

have the frame out now, so i'll snap some pics of just the frame.

yo richie, new front cross member is in! you available this weekend for some more fun?
