I bought this thing from Pomona, the firewall is kind of bent up and the wood is past rotten on the inside, but it was only 30 bucks (and a hell of a haul from the VW section to the front gate.)
Anybody know what it is? The inside door latch said the patent was something like 5-7-20. It's no roller but it's something.

Dodge did not ever use wood in the framing. I fixed a few for a guy...no wood there on Dodges.

I got no clue but it is amazing how many times a whole car disappears leaving only the cowl.

Looks like a 1920 Studebaker light six cowl but their is know way of knowing for sure. Most answers will be guesses because their is so little to go off of and the number of different automotive manufactures in the 20's was some where near 200

My guess is a Buick. Not sure which year though. The shape and firewall in particular look very similar to the one I cut out of my 1918 body. Does not have the cowl vent though. Shape of the screen frame looks Dodge though.

I have to agree. Most likely, the only person who'll know is someone who has owned that type of vehicle before. But I say that's a blessing in disguise. build your own rod. Let your imagination tell you what the rest of it should look like. If nothing else, It'd be fun just to sketch out what you think it should look like.

  9. Sooner or later some wag will suggest it's a Henway.

But I agree, unless someone comes along who recognizes it, the only way to ID it is to start with a car spotter guide and try to match up the posts, vent and shape, then try to find pictures of those cars with the hood up or showing the dashboard to try to match it up to them.

That tall fresh air vent should give somebody a clue, but I don't have one.
