http://www.burlscreek.com/ Spring Barrie Automotive Flea Market June 3,4,5,6, 2010 I look forward to this one all year
1J1,2 and 3 in the brown field! ALL VINTAGE PARTS! No socks or T shirts unless I'm wearing them. I'm there every June emptying out my ba*****t making room for more.I still have a 62 Caddy,63 Galaxie,64 Galaxie etc to part out for next year. Picked up a 65 Fury yesterday.I'm looking forward to going again despite Haney and his crew.See ya there!
I have so many ill reports of it i never ventured out....But then again I have heard good things about it from pals in Barrie...... I will be going to Waterdown the week prior.... so IS there good material there or is it a belt buckle festival,,,, just asking.
I'm P***ing on Spring Barrie this Year to Check this out : http://www.fleetwoodcountrycruizein.com/index.html I always miss it because of the swap meet. Looks like a good show, draws some big names and its only an hour drive for me.(instead of 5hrs for the swapmeet) I'll still be Vending in the Fall though.
There is a bunch of **** vendors (socks, phones etc) but the place is big enough to have a bunch of good stuff too. fall barrie is even bigger than the spring barrie. Haney has been saying for years that he will get rid of the non automotive vendors but he is pretty much full of **** for the most part. If you have never been you should go as a spectator first. If you were going to vend I would start in the fall (especially with the cool stuff you have to sell! ) There are also a bunch of the guys who unroll a tarp & dump rusty **** on it & are mystified as to why it does not sell. I don't know if it is the biggest in Canada but it is the biggest in Ontario as far as I know.
The Swap Meet has gotten Progessivly Worse. All I hear when Walking around from the other vendors is how there "not coming back next year!" Some do some don't. I dont know why there needs to be so many Fleece Blanket/Socks/Crocs/ Vendors. Cl***ic Car Parts are becoming slim pickins. Lots of Late Model stuff, Snowmobile ATV Parts, Garage Sale Stuff. And Rusty Junk Hauled out of the Bush ( Not you Ratmotor, HA) I find the Smaller Swaps around the area to be Alot better. Quality over Quan***y. Like Waterdown, London ect.
What swap is in london that is good? that is a fair haul for me but if it is a decent swap I might check it out. On a side note - anyone going to the unfinished nats? http://unfinishednationals.com/
Yeah, there's definitely some **** there that doesn't belong(remember the Sesame Street thing "one of these things doesn't belong....)guess the owner is just greedy, despite his "vendor rules" of no non-automotive stuff for sale. But, there is always something interesting there. I was there last year as a vendor and did quite well. Our local Chevy dealer moved to new premises and I got to clear out what they left behind for $100! I had trailer loads of new parts, old parts, etc. I still have buckets of GM special tools. I ought organize 'em and FleaBay 'em.
