What are you guys running for skins on the back. I know bias ply and
probably mostly Coker but what sizes? I'm most likely going to use 15" steelies to start with.

Well, gotta be whitewalls. That's what makes it a Hot Rod isn't it? I read that somewhere.

This season we went to the "legal cheater" tire from Coker, the L78. Have yet to get in a run so the jury's still out for ours.

ps. Blackwalls for us, guess it ain't a hotrod. :( :D

It's what gets you down the track the fastest that counts!

I use L78 Coker white walls @ 20 psi , they seem to grip OK but I don't have a great deal of horse power.

I think all the SDRA guys run L-78 Cokers and we blow them away regularly. I come out at 1800 rpm and sometimes it goes up in smoke, sometimes just mild tire spin for about 100 feet. 18 lbs. pressure. I have pedaled it and still turned 11.52. :) Roy

We poe' folk. Have to run what was close at hand. Some used up Good Year 225x75x15. Radials..Yes Radials. They don't hook up either. No matter what air pressure you have in them..

  9. We've commonly promoted the use of the L78, and haven't had any problems or complaints, whilst we're not running 11's (although we wish we were;):D), we've really had no drama's with them, plenty of service life, predictable, we're running around the 17-20psi, and all good thus far.

Anyone know if Coker is still an Alliance vendor? They're not listed under the vendor list anymore but they have a clickable link on the vendor page that brings you right back again. L-78's sound like the ticket.

  11. Note: I didn't like the whitewalls, so I turned them around the otherway....just to tease people.....;):D

    Cheers,

    Drewfus:)
