Cars and people starting to show up. No rain is sight. Looks like it will be a great day for racing.

Technical difficulties at the starting line slowing things a bit, but they just got it fixed.

OK Dallas Guys, this has to be one of the COOLEST places in the DFW metroplex to have an event.
LOTS of shade, killer vibe to the place. I think the weather may have kept a few folks away but it was a great time.
So for those of you wanting someplace in Dallas to have a car event YELLO BELLY should be your first choice.

I drove into GP for the gathering from 1.5 hrs. away and had a lot of fun. I attended by myself because most of the gearheads around here did not want to go for various reasons which rain was one of them. I am glad I took the chance. I got to meet some new folks and ran into one guy I met a couple of months ago. The atmosphere in the stands was great. Looks like everyone was having a good time with a lot of ribbing going on about some of the drivers. I think the weather turned out perfect. I am sure many did not come due to the rain the night before and the forecasters scaring a lot of people away. The swapmeet was weak but they usually are when the show is new.

Hopefully the promoters read the HAMB and will be encouraged to do this again next year. I plan on making it next year and bringing my 34 Ford p/u (hopefully it will be finished). I called a friend of mine from S. TX on the way home and told him about it. He plans to come up next year and attend with me.

All in all it was a lot of fun and hope you all do it again next year. If not, at least I bought a T-shirt that will be a collectors item.:):)

Great venue! Gives the feel of early Day of the Drags I think...didn't stay for the real racing, but it was fun watching the test n tune. Maybe next year I'll have something worth taking down the track. Congratulations Rusty, Danny, Chandler, and all your helpers on a successful event!!!

Rusty & Danny & Chandler, I am so bummed now that we did not take a chance and wussed out this morning when it was time to leave Austin at 6:30 am. It was still raining here and Reggie's bro who lives in Dallas said it was still coming down up there art 6am. Reggie, Norm, Ryan, Big Kevin and me had the plan set to come, but the rain here and up there and the report we got yesterday about how it was suppossed to rain most of the day up in DFW area made us bail. It looks like it turned out to be a beautiful day up there as it did here in Austin after it cleared up. Well at least I got started on rewiring the Golden Rod and made a dent in taking apart the front end of the '50 Merc my nephew just got that I am helping him out with. Well we will be there next year fo sure. Being an event promoter can be a drag sometimes when the weather gets in the way. Trust me I know. I know how hard you all worked on the event and am glad you did wind up w/ the nice weather and it looked like like the perfect setting for this event. "Put on a race and they will come". It will more than double next year.......See you soon pal.
