Projects Update - Making Progress on my '32 RPU!!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Harrison, May 9, 2010.

  1. The box is a Brookville. It is pretty much a Model A bed with sides that extend beyond the front panel & are cut to fit the back of the cab.

The panel is a Knecht piece. http://www.knechtequipment.com/

Gauges are Classic Instruments "All American Nickel" series with custom pointers.

    The shift knob is RABID!!!

...but I've had my shots. ;)

    Thanks guys.

  4. Yup, even cooler than your modified! I see you like the Model A brake pice turned spreader bar? That is one of two options for my Tudor.

  5. WILL cuss it?!?!? Hell, I already am. :p:rolleyes:

That spreader bar is a must on anything we build. My A RPU, Kennedy's Coupe, his dad's '32 Tudor, my '32 RPU.....

I appreciate the kind words guys. I'm getting excited about this one.

  8. Cool, looking at yours makes me think I want to use this spreader instead of the stainless one I am making.

  9. I like your RDPU. It definitely looks better than the one Ford designed. I had a chance to buy an original several years ago and decided that it was so ugly that I bought a '31 instead. In retrospect, because of their scarcity I should have bought it despite the way it looked.

    Dig the headlights.

  14. I need some early Ford "cups" that will fit the headlight bar sockets so they will actually sit up straight.... but I can see enough to know that I LOVE them.

Hey Jim, Thanks for the link to the headlight hardware. I've got a couple of sets of really cool headlights that have the same problem your having...........won't adjust properly on a Ford headlight bar.

  19. My bike had me distracted for a while. (I gave RT a chance on the Akront I got from you. They screwed it up.)

    Thanks man!

I haven't ordered these parts yet but my old Guides fit my Model A bar perfectly. They should work.

Hate to hear that about the rim. I have been thinking about putting my A up for sale???

  21. You owe it to yourself to at least enjoy that thing for a few months before selling it. Get back after it.

You might change your mind. ;)

  23. Glad it worked for you.
