anybody have pics or ideas on how to use a marine intake for a Y-block on a engine that needs to run coolant. i have a boat intake but it has no t-stat provision in the intake or coolant ports for that matter. my dad said he seen them on cars in the 50's and 60's but dosent rember how the cooling was set up. pics would be awesome. is this intake even worth running on the street?

The boat intake doesn't have provisions for a thermostat. You'd need to run hoses from the water elbows to a central thermostat housing like the blower motor guys use. You can get them from Speedway and such for $80 I think.

But, you will probably need to modify your water elbows to exit horizontally.

And, be sure the intake you buy has the water elbows with it. I think 90% of the intakes i see for sale are missing the elbows. They are absolutley necessary because the front intake hole is shared/split with the elbow.

    See the pics.

Hey, I've got one of those! There's a complete 312 Interceptor from an old HackerCraft out behind my boat barn. It's got those side draft Carters on it -- they tended to leak and so were called "Boat Burners" back in the day.
I had no idea they were worth anything.

I used to hang it off the back of the tractor when I was putting heavy stuff in the loader, it was very valuable in that regard.

There's no stopping progress though, it's now been replaced by a drum full of lead s****s, so it's even lost it's dead weight job. Sad really :(
