In July Lukester and I picked this one up in Rocky's stomping ground. We tried to get Rocky out of the house for a beer and some gambling on our trip, but I guess he was sick. Here are a couple of pics. The first pic is what it looked like when I decided to call it a night tonight. The second one is when it came home for the first time. I think the lid needs to come down next.
your engine looks a little far back there Looks good! I wouldn't chop it, well maybe just a little... Oh all right, wack the **** out of it! Mike
I wondered why it looked so good....Then I realised its not channeled! Thank God you built it as a highboy, I was beginning to think no one had any taste....
Good start on a cool project. And the 68 or 69 Plymouth in the background is a cool ride too. Keep us in pics. Keith
Who built the 32 frame under your car? That looks good. I think you might want to move the engine forward just a bit also. Your doing a great job!
Looks great, not many '30 tudor highboys out there. I'd go with a 3 1/2" to 4 " chop. Who made the ch***is?
Nice lookin' highboy! Looks way better than a channeled A sedan. Too bad ya sold the OG paint duece grille. It would have been killer on there, but a Brookville will do. Lookin' good!!!!! Get that ***** together and cruise it to Luke's so I can check it out.
Cool Tudor....who did the frame. Been lookin' round and best for the buck I've found is Kiwi Konnections in Bakersfield with a pinched nose for 'bout $1,700. Yers looks damn nice. Front axel 4" drop? Got me a 29 still ln storage just waitn' for the garage ta clear. Great look
That thing needs an 8 inch chop, otherwise, you're a *****. Solid, Halibrand wheels would rule on it too. You could make the whole body tilt up to get in and out, like the Orange Crate. That would be killer. I dare you. I like it, just don't let Luke****er turn it into a street rod............
I'd like to see pictures of how you did the rear as well. All pictures are helpful. Are you going to run a '32 gas tank. or did you bob the frame. Thanks!!! Brock
Me and Lukester built the frame from a set of ASC bare rails. Ther front is a 4" drop, The rear is a ladder bar setup with a transverse leaf. As for the motor being too far back...that's where we like to put 'em where I come from. Here are some pics of the rear. The rusty square tubing is a temporary that will come out. Nice job on the photochop Hatch, but I think it needs a couple more inches off the top.
RULE #1 Always have a rusty square tube welded som-wheres! I think I'm gonna become a Shriner...Maybe a Zor.
Nice work, sir. You fellas that want a 8-10" chop need to know: Haystack is like 6'10" and 300lbs. That tilt body of the 'bleed said sond's right!
Looks great. That engine is waaaaay back there where it oughta be. '70 Coronet / Super Bee in the background? Definitely '68-70 Dodge roofline, with '70 Rallyes. Maybe we'll have to find out on another message board?
Hay Stack - Looking good - can you show me some pictures of how your body mounts are coming? I have a pinched 32 frame under my 31 and it would be interesting to see how your body is fitting on the frame. Right now mine pretty much rests on the front two stock mounts and the rear of the body accroess the frame. I put a plate that bolts to the body with the stock pieces of body mount wood that rests on the frame. I will weld that plate to the top of the frame. I have a 1/2" gap between the top of the frame and bottom of the body - but you can't see it because of the overhang. It looks like your pumpkin is up inside the back of the car. What are you doing for your mid cross support body mounts? Are you aiming to do wheelies? Why are you setting the motor sop far back?
I hear you finally drove it today, ...65 mph in first gear ......****in rad...... looks like it will have to go to the drags..... awsome , congrats and good job.........LUKESTER
I notice you're using a tampon to plug the trans output... Where do you get 'em that big? Sorry, couldn't resist.... Looks COOL!
