The May 2009 car show was one of the most successful ever with 256 cars on display! According to Central County Occupational Center (CCOC) Auto Body Repair instructor and event organizer, Robert McTaggart, approximately 1,000 people attended the car show. Spectators voted on what their favorites were for best car, best motorcycle, best bike, and best paint in the show.

Total profit was nearly $4,000 for the CCOC’s SkillsUSA club and Robert did an excellent job organizing last year's event. There were many volunteers setting up for the event including CCOC staff and SkillsUSA students. Also, several students brought in their own cars that they had worked on while attending CCOC.

Students and staff from other CCOC programs set-up displays showcasing some of the many cl***es available at CCOC. The Culinary Arts and Baking and Catering cl***es ***isted with the cooking of more than 600 meals and the feeding of those in attendance.<O:p</O:p

The following link is to an excellent 2-minute video that El Observador reporter Osvaldo Castillo Jr. made at the 2009 car show: http://autos.sma****s.com/video/IDu3tb626YQ/ccoc-car-show.html. View last year’s promotional video on Youtube, Car Show at CCOC,

A $15 tax deductible donation/fee is all it takes to exhibit a custom, cl***ic or vintage car, truck, motorcycle or bicycle in the CCOC auto show into this year's car show on May 14, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Exhibitors will also receive one free meal. No need to pre-register as an exhibitor, just pay $15 at the gate! Donations are also being accepted to help offset costs. Visit www.MetroED.net and click on the “donate” ****on for more information.<O:p</O:p

All proceeds will go directly to support students competing in the upcoming SkillsUSA state and national compe***ions in April and June. Spaghetti, hotdogs, and soft drinks will be available for purchase by spectators. Spectators’ admission to the car show is free.

CCOC is located at 760 Hillsdale Ave, San Jose, CA 95136, right off of Highway 87. Visit http://www.MetroED.net for more information.<O:p</O:p
