    i went out there today.
as mentioned there are some 40 shells and misc older cab overs, trucks, etc. i spoke with one of the guys there. basically the guy that wrote that add was supposed to give it to them first to proof read and that never happened.

they are going to crush whats left, but only the late model ****.
they are WAY high in my option on what older tin they do have.
ie. 68 chevy wagon, 350, rusty floors, complete, 6,000.
i was afraid to ask about anything that might excite this board.

i didn't see anything that really was good.

i did pick up a chunk of steel to aid in u joint removal, laying in the road $1.

and got my first FREE tick in my sock!

Wow "ryno" sounds like they have gotten worst since sunday!!! I remember the wagon, 6,000???? it's a parts car at best. I mentioned earlier in the thread that I left with some items. They were WWII aircraft items, I'm beginning to think the only reason I got them cheap is because they didn't know what they were! Someone mentioned needing a 60 for parts, if I remeber right there was a 60 4dr. up in the north corner behind a cabover. As far as 50's ford pickups, there are some good cabs on 1 ton to 2 ton frames up there aswell, I wonder about the price on them? Oh and by the way, I got my free tick aswell! The amazing thing is Clay was not like this, his prices were very fair except for his 40 ford parts and pieces, because that's what he loved.

too bad, maybe they just need to crush everything and put an end to it. a 6k chevy wagon should be a clean driver, not a field car...

no i didn't. i think there # is listed on the first post.
i don't think they are selling it from the way the guy was talk-in, or at least not for a reasonable amount.

Agreed - I hate to see the cl***ics get s****ped, no matter the condition. Every time it's like a little piece of history is taken away. And in the case of my 1960 F100 Panel, I can get front end parts they make for the pick-up but I'm not see much for the back end of the truck.

My wife and I differ so much on this - she sees junk and I see potential. She hasn't seen my '60 F100 Panel yet, but I'm sure she'll see the rust before anything else.

I wish I could out there and look for parts for my truck, but it's a bit of a hike for me.

I've decided to wash my hands on this one for now. Getting to the nitty gritty on prices, there's just no way on most items.

I really think they are trying to hook the newbie fish before the hammer drops. I look at it this way! Oh well, see ya all at the auction when thay have to sell everything and the only things left will be the things that they don't want to sell now.

    So...is it a load of B.S., basically?
And they have some late '30's - '40s Ford stuff, but either want to keep it all (suipposeldy it make-or-break$ time), or it has sentimental value.
In spite of the desperation story they told the reporter, then say they never told him.
And it says here that most of what they have, people say isn't exciting (like the 1968 (?) chevy wagon junker for $6K.?).

Sp big deal - if they had any sense, they'd be begging the s**** guy top buy those type s of things, not trying to "preserve them"...they aren't valuable. $200. 's good!

Looks like they were playing games with the magazine guy to get a mention.

That's offensive to do, if it's not true. (and I don't think the magazine guy made it up or "didn't understand"...
too bad they went to far as to use health problems/dire straits stuff to get people to run down there with $.
(But people who did, wanting the good stuff were told it still wasn';t for sale?? What the ____?!).
    :confused::(

    Well... got them mentioned.

been reading this thread with interest..would hate to think it was all a sham..but mistakes that big are hard to make (cancer story)..i do know a little about s**** yards i have around 300 cars myself that i saved from my crushing days..always figured they would help with my retirement..i lost my wife to "cancer" so i retired several years ago, and selling the cars and parts has helped..i place no sentimental value to iron (just flesh) everything i have has a price and usually by the time you figure the hours i put in moving cars around, pulling parts, packing and shipping, going thru posts for hours at a time..i am not sure its even worth-while might be better to crush it all, then sell my equipment and tools and really retire..:)..but!! i look at these old cars through a teenagers eyes, a little elbow grease and ingenuity ..BINGO!!! my dream car..:) so i'll keep pecking away at it..my daughter says one day they will drag my cold body out from under a 40 chevy with a wrench and old u-joint in my hands...ha ha ha ha ..would like to go see this yard im not that far away..and meet the owners..this story has sparked my interest

First time I've seen this thread. At first, I wished I hadn't. But RustyNewYorker (as usual) and WhiskeyRunner are experienced voices of reason on this matter.

As much as I hate to see oldies crushed for s****-iron price, it sounds as if the guys who are patient, respectful of the people who own the stuff, and who show up with cash, knowing what they want, and who are willing to pay reasonable prices when these folks do move even the best stuff -- those are the guys who will get what they need.

Sure, cars will get crushed, OR sold at a the tax auction (as somebody already mentioned). But if everybody just wrings their hands and bemoans the loss, they lose. Those who watch the situation closely and try to stay in respectful touch with these people may well make out, I'll bet.

And if it all gets s****ped overnight, nobody could have done anything anyway. Just reality.

Looking for a good cab, front clip with finders and hood sides, plus box if available for a '47-48 Diamond T 201 pickup truck or slightly heavier unit with same styling; to put on a 3/4-1Ton diesel rolling ch***is, 4X4, with 4-link air suspension as primary on front and rear axles, adding a sliding 5th wheel hitch to pull our 5th wheel RV trailer across USA and Canada.
Any ***istance in the where-abouts one may be hiding in someone's barn or storage shed would be greatly appreciated, frame and running gear not of real importance to me at this time.
Thank you, cheers,,,,,,,,,hoggin boss, Ontario, Canada

  24. Uh, we have a cl***ified section here, there's no reason to bump up ancient threads with posts that have nothing to do with anything.
