Does any body know if this can be done before I take the 425 out of the rivera to put in my 56 ford pickup. Some manuals show a 425 in 63 and some don't, engine code is jw , j for 1963 and w for 425, but the first w is shown in 1964 ? and all j codes are in 63 ? I guess I just need more info . Thanks guys, Dan

Should be a easy swap. I have a stock 64 Electra with the 401 and it came with the turbo 400 from the factory. The Riviera just had the more cubes.Same engine configeration.

  3. Seems to me the center hole in the flexplate will beed to be opened up to make it work.

Should be a direct bolt in. I don't believe any 425s were out with dynaflos in 63.
If infact it is not a 425 but a 401-you have another story.( or an engine backed by a dynaflo)
Flexplate will need to be opened up to accept crank flange, pilot adaptor for front of torque convertor snout and space the starter forward about 1/2".
