Last weekend the car club put together a little get together at our newest members rod shop just outside of Sioux Falls. Brad Westergard owner/operator of Westergard Rod & Custom in Dell Rapids just joined the club a few months ago and invited the club members out and others for an inspection day. Club members took advantage of using brads hoist, tools, and his knowledge to get the cars ready for the summer events and road trips. Lunch was served and even a two vintage bicycles were brought in to make one good runner for Pete our Club Chef...so he could cruise the fairgrounds this summer. After lunch, inspections, oil changes, and checking out all the kool guy **** in Brads shop we headed next door where there happens to be a mile long run way used for crop dusters and hobby plains...The 1/8th mile was marked the grudge matches were set along with some good old fashion flaging....The runway is a little rough but it served us just fine for a good day of smokin tires and slamin gears...The flathead in the Dakota Kid was running like a champ with a fresh oil change and sum tuning. I was the only one with 3 pedals so leaving them in dust at the line was easy but the couple of small blocks and big blocks got me after second gear. In the end it was a great day (No Broken Keyways) and Brad has invited us back for more later in the summer....
