need help with a moulding clip on a 51 chevy hardtop

    i was wondering if anyone could show me a pic of what kind of moulding clip that goes on the little piece of stainless that goes above the belt trim right behind the quarter window at the end of drip rail to the edge of the lower reveal moulding on the hardtop???i dont have an existing clip only part of one that is in the pic but dont know what is rotted off???? and looking at the body i have no clue how it goes on also if anyone knows where i could purchase the clip because chevsof the 40s and natchevassoc didnt know what i was talking about when i described it

    Hmmm, you should be able to go to any real good large auto body supply house with the trim in hand. they should be able to hook you up, If not check out this place....

    Au Ve Co is the oldest supplier of molding clips, etc in the market. google 'em.

    or, fabricate one from scratch, using one from the other side as a pattern.

    well the thing is i dont know how it attaches because on the body theres nothing

    maybe somebody here has a shop manual with a clear picture or a part number to bump this along for you... i imagine then that the other side is the same way... sorry. molding clips are the least expensive part on a car but sometimes the most difficult to replace!

    The 51 we pulled alot of the stainless of the chevy the shop is assembling now but for the trim clips i was missing we ended up using some from Au Ve Co the spring looking ones that fit in the stainless grooves and just pop into a drilled hole I will try to take a pic of the ones we used. THe 51 Chevy is kinda left out as far as aftermarket parts and information go.

    i hear you on that the hardtop is hard to find parts for hopefully someone on here who has a hardtop can help me out
