We are finishing the cab of my 28 and I want to mount the power window ***embly. I had gl*** made already.

My doors have no channel for the gl*** to slide in. There is a little over an inch of room where the stock channel used to be. What do I use to make a new one or is there any premade stuff I can order.

    Thanks

I just did all the gl*** in my '29 truck and got everything I needed from Mac's. Inside the doors there should be metal channels for the felt tracks to go into, if not those are available too. The new felt tracks are glued in and the garnish moldings help hold the window tracks in place on the upper half of the door. http://www.macsautoparts.com/

When you say "inch of room" is it the width of the slot for the channel? The depth? Or the gap between the sheet metal and edge of your gl***? A good gl*** shop will have a jobber that they get their supplies from, this is who you want to hook up with. They carry all different types of channel, the whisker edge with for the door tops, etc etc. Once you get the right stuff, installation is pretty straightforward... probably shoulda cut your gl*** AFTER you had this sorted out though...

The correct gl*** dimensions are in the upper left for stock doors.

I can't buy from Sullivan's Garage. I bought a set of flathead motor pads from him on Ebay and got a set of rings for a Nash motor. Checked his sales and emailed the guy that had won the rings and he had my motor mounts. Made a deal and he shipped me my parts and I his. Sullivan's wouldn't make that deal and he got bad reports from both of us. Now he has blocked any further sales on Ebay for me. His loss!

I ordered a vintique hood ornament from him once, it took MANY WEEKS for delivery.

All in all, the time it took didn't matter, but he didn't know that, and it was just a pain in the *** waiting and wondering IF he would ever ship.

I won't be ordering from SG again even though I am not blocked.... :D
