Every since we sold my fiance's Exploder last year, she now drives the 10 y.o dodge pickup and I drive the 50 y.o. panel...

Being retired driving a old car is easy with no place you have to be.The panel is great for home depot runs or other Eran's.Plus a/c, power steering,V8 and auto trans make it easy to drive.I also have a trailer hitch and electric brakes so my 16 ft trailer gets a work out.You should see the looks when I pull in some place with the trailer loaded behind the panel.

It looks like some of you think 'old' cars were made in the 50s and 60s and 70s and some of you are bragging about cars made in the 80s!

They quit making antique cars about 1948 and came out with modern cars with overhead valves and automatics and independent suspension and air conditioning.

Its not out of the ordinary for modern cars to be used every day.............

Who drives 48 and OLDER everyday?

I just got my 49 shoebox and I kinda have to drive it everyday. Its all I got! I came home from deployment and swore on everything holy Id have a pre-65 hotrod. Untill now,( Im 28) Its either been a new wife, new kid, or a new ex-wife thats held me back. I am looking forward to driving it daily, except for rainy days, I sometimes have to stick my head out the window haha

I have to, it's the only vehicle I own.

My work commute is 90 miles round trip right through Dallas/ Fort Worth metroplex. I drive it everyday, rain or shine, icy roads, hot or cold.

I did build it from the frame up though, so all the suspension is late model and rebuilt with disc brakes, power steering and highway gears. Only down side is that I'm still running the factory column shift 3 speed with non synchro first gear so stop and go traffic can get tedious after awhile.

I bought into the debt free lifestyle completely. Thanks to sacrifices like driving an old vehicle, my entire monthly bills consist of my cell phone bill and my truck insurance bill.

No...Wish I could. But cars have been stolen and vandalized here in the work parking lot so I won't drive it to work. Plus, it gets to be 120 degrees here and with no A/C it gets pretty hot. I take it out evenings and on weekends though as much as possible and I am always in the garage by it whether I am doing anything to it or not. So, for daily driver I have a freaking Toyota. My daily car means nothing to me other than it has A/C, reliable and will last a while.
