Hey guys this Kat is still alive. Just been real busy with work. So, I've shut the door and I'm going to do some catch'n up with some new stuff for this years show. Last years SK500 we had fifteen '49 to '51 Mercs. I've decided to add the "Koolest Merc of the Year" trophy. Why? Because I'm crazy about Mercurys. My goal is to have fifty at this years show. (Next year 100) We will have special awards just for Mercs: Best Chop, Flames or Pinstripes, Profile, Longest Distance,... To add to the other Kool Kustoms and Hot Rods that attend, I would like to build this up to be the largest gathering of Mercs in the Mid-West. I just can't get enough of Discover channel, so I thought that we would have a "Bike (bicycle) Build Off" Stray Kat style. We are gathering parts and stuff for the Bicycle build. The teams will have three hours to get their bikes together and some body not me, will pick a winner and a couple of runner ups. We will have a welder and someone that will ***ist in welding. The bikes have to be painted so, we will construct a card board paint booth for the Kustom Krylon paint. Korney? Yes you bet it is, but I garantee it will be kool. I forgot to mention Cash prizes for the winners!! Sign up will be the day of the show, but if you cann't wait send me a pm and I'll get ya on the list. We already have teams signed up. The Bikes at the end of the show, will be auctioned off, and the proceeds will go to the Tom Mix Museum. Since we are having a Bike Build Off, I thought that we should have Kustom Bike exibit. This will include: Bikes, Mini-bikes and other fairground pounders. (I'm working on a new bike for next year, see pictures below.......) The Stray Kats from GAP ROAD Kustoms Are modify'n a Bike that will be giving away. Right know it looks alittle like the one below, but trust me that will change. Look Out!! Rod and Dudley have a green light on the kustom work. Looks like we are going to have and grudge match between the Stray Kat Kustoms, Ford vs Chevy Drag race. The Stray Kat 500 (May 6,7 & 8th) pre-registers are ahead of past three years. If you need some information, let me know because the pre-regs freebee shirts are going fast. Gotta Rev it up & Go.......... Happy Trails, Mick

No one would really know the car ISN'T a Merc anyway... R-
Dewey, OK about 5 miles north of Bartilsville, OK. This show is so much fun. We all have a blast every year. It's one you can't miss. It's kind of a "new age" old school rod run. Games, prizes, hanging out, BBQ, Bands, excellent night life. It's a feakin blast. monkey
[ QUOTE ] No one would really know the car ISN'T a Merc anyway... [/ QUOTE ] Thats funny, we have something in common. No one believes that mine IS a Merc. I'll send ya a Merc badge....... Happy Trails, Mick
OH I AM SOOOO DOWN FOR THIS!!! I can't decide if I wanna be on a team, or help out with the event. Is this something I should bring my bike fab tools for??? I wouldn't want to cheat or nothin' . Mick, you have made this even more desirable now! I'm so ready for this, and now it's only 5 months away! Reverend Jake
[ QUOTE ] It's a feakin blast. [/ QUOTE ] MONKEY!!! "FEAKIN" THANKS for the kind words!!!! Rev, RGHT ON!!! I can't wait to checkout the Bike Build off. I can see "THEM" Tulsa gang putting together something krazy. I might use this picture to promote the event. Did Vern use to be a Sears Model????? Happy Trails, Mick
[ QUOTE ] Did Vern use to be a Sears Model????? [/ QUOTE ] I think he's a Victoria Secretion model! That'd be a kool pic for the promo, but I'm a little biased to that bike. I miss my swivel seat. If we have to Krylon our paint jobs, you better buy some kool Testors kolors so we can get wicked with the paint jobs. How lavish do you want this to get??? What happens to the two runner up bikes? Man, I'm stoked about this. Should I line up a team now, or when we get there? Reverend Jake
[ QUOTE ] .........How lavish do you want this to get??? What happens to the two runner up bikes? Should I line up a team now, or when we get there? [/ QUOTE ] Hey Rev, The teams are going to have at least three hours (maybe more) to work on the project, so it could get real wild. My motto the krazy'r the better. We are going to have alot of parts to choose from. I know one of the boxes of parts includes an old trike. All of the kustom bikes will be auction'd off. The Tom Mix Museum was robbed acouple of years ago and lost most of the guns. They just recovered most of them and the museum needs to increase their security. So I thought that this would be a good way to raise some money and have a blast at the same time. I thought that you guys would be interested in sign'n up, so I'll put your team on the list. As far as the paint jobs, we will have a bunch of Kool Krylon to choose from. Thanks for the input, Gotta Rev it Up & Go!!!!! Happy Trails, Mick
Well, Mr. Mickey, Since I have received NUMEROUS complaints about the TupperWare Special 32 being WAY TOO fast for this crowd, how's bout me bringing an ol' beatup Mayflower Kooop down this year? Jim
Hey Jim, Last year we had a drag boat show up, so we might as well have a ship. Ha, ha, ha!! Happy Trails, Mick
Rev, We have to get that bike back man. That thing was too much fun! Hey, those purple lowrider bikes at Walmart have gone on sale now. $89.00. That's it. They were only $118.00! I'm thinking of getting one and chopping it up and adding some accessories. Rev Horton Heat next Friday man!! Get ready! I think we all may be going to eat before. Micky, you coming in town for Horton Heat? monkey
89 Bux, Man! I need to go LAYaway one of those bad boys. Since the GOLD BIKE is gone, I'll just have to build one that much kooler. Monk, you realize I'm outta town for Rev. don'tcha??? It seems like when the Tulsa click has an opportunity to get together, Whoosh, I'm off to some other event. Vern told me he's a show up for sure, he may actually work the event. I'll be in Shreveport, Louisiana. Maybe I'll have some gumbo to soothe the pain. Remember, if it's a build off, we HAVE to have alot of Melodrama and friction. This way it looks like we'll never be able to finish our project, and then 5 minutes before time is up...Whaalah! Primo bike for the show. Reverend Jake
Hey, does that mean I get to throw part around right when I take them off the bike? And I want someone on the PA with a deep voice saying "FREE BEEEE" everytime I get ready to put something on the new creation. Just like moster garage! Man, that ****s your out of town. I'll give Vern a call and make sure he knows the plans for the evening. later amigo! monkey
[ QUOTE ] you coming in town for Horton Heat? [/ QUOTE ] Where in Tulsa? My son is playing in a basketball tournament next week. I believe he is not scheduled to play Friday night. I'll check out my MoJo Box and let ya know. Happy Trails, Mick
Anyone know what kinda bike this is?? I have a frame that is exactly the same as this that I found at the dump, and it's in brand new shape. I want to lengthen it to make it more chopper like. ANyone know what it is?
[ QUOTE ] Anyone know what kinda bike this is?? I have a frame that is exactly the same as this that I found at the dump, and it's in brand new shape. I want to lengthen it to make it more chopper like. ANyone know what it is? [/ QUOTE ] I built the bike. Of course it used to be a 26 inch model, but I cut and whacked it to ride 20 inch goodies (except for the 26 inch springer fork). It didn't have any identifying marks when I stripped it. The most modification was done to the rear. The seat post was cut down and pulled back. I then pulled the upper part of the rear forks down to meet the post. That bike rides extremely well. It feels aggressive when you ride it. The whitewalls are 2.25 instead of 1.75 which gave it more of a grip feeling. If you have any other questions just shout. Reverend Jake
is that you on the bike? i am 6' 1" tall and want this to look cool and be comfortable for my size. Any other pics of it by any chance?
Hey Im in for the 500, came down from Iowa last year it was a blast. Thanks for the coool plaque. there will be at least 4 or 5 of the OUTCAST coming with me....cant wait
That's not me on the bike, that's my bud Vern. We're both short dudes, and the bike rides fine. You'll probably have to lower seat post more so you're not hunched over. And also move the pedal ***embly forward for your legs to not be cramped up. I'm not real sure where the bike went off to, cuz it's been auctioned/raffled twice. Everyone who rode it like it though, including my tall buddies. PM me if'n ya need more info, I don't want to pirate Mick's post. Mickey may have some other pics, but I don't have any of the bike...Sorry. Yes Mr. Winshield it is a GIRLS bike. I actually like to use those more so than the cantilever boys. Reverend Jake
[ QUOTE ] don't miss the seat it hurt my *** [/ QUOTE ] That explains the smile........... Happy Trails, Mick
