While driving on I-80 towards Wendover today, a huge billboard jumped out at me announcing that little ol' band from Texas will be performing at the Peppermill Casino Friday August 13th. Oh boy...

Sounds like someone might have figured out how he's going to Bonneville and be able to get a room. And get paid in the process. All too cool even if I can't make it this year.

I'll be there too. I saw them performing in Sweden in the late 80's and it was totally awesome. As a car show co-promoter we had the Cadzilla and the Hogzillas for the first time outside U.S. Can't go wrong with ZZ

Big ZZ top fan myself. I have the feeling that if they keep practicing they'll hit it big one day.

They are really touring at this point. I heard they are going to be playing at a venue in Tyler, TX in about a month. now, Tyler is pretty small compared to most other locations they might play. Tyler is about population 100,000.... But apparently, ZZ Top recorded one of their first albums here in a little studio behind a guy's house back in the day. I met the guy once when I had a car for sale that he bought his son. The studio is called Robin Hood Studios and the owner is Robin Hood Brians.

    Pretty cool!

I think I'm going to p***. I'm already spending $$$ to be there, not sure I need to spend another $250 for a night out.

    It would be great though.

ZZ playing Tyler????? Where? Oil palace? My sister saw them play in Tyler when she was at TJC sometime around late 70 or 71. She said she didn't care much for them but then our music taste is very different. Can't get much better than ZZ top now that Stevie Ray Vaughn has p***ed on.

Yeah, I went through the process of purchasing online. I went for the cheaper tickets and they add $24 service fee...not sure what service they are offering...and $40 to post the tickets to me. Needless to say, I didn't hit the "complete purchase" ****on.

It's a shame, but I can use that money more effectively on my cars or my U.S. trip.

See you all at Bonneville :D

On Wed the 19th when tickets went on sale they wouldn't sell tickets unless you were getting a room there as well.
