Yep, springs alone the steering, shocks and wishbones are all factory stock.
Although the rear has been lowered about three inches with after market springs as well , but everthing else is stock including the six cyl diff.
    Cheers Dago :)

Deathmobile, for an olds I'd build it like a factory J-2 motor with the 3x2 intake. There were also dimpled valve covers( Isky made them I think) that allowed for high lift rockers.

Injection is awesome, but difficult to drive on the street, however if you've got patience, and don't need to car to take you to work in the morning you could get away with it. If you can't find hilborn try looking for Algon injection, also very populat in the 50's but not as pretty, so in some cases you can find the setups for cheaper.

Alsoo... look in the the McCulloch VS-57 centrifugal superchargers. I could spend alot of time telling you all about them, but check out this site instead.

Deathmobile, Here are some pics of my 49 Olds. It was an old drag/street racer from Monteray Ca. I found it in a local cl***ified add in Utah. Garaged since 1977 and untouched since the 60's .
I like the nose up look and hope you enjoy the pics.

did anyone notice that this thread is 4 years old?im sure the car is either done or sold!!

  12. Now that is awesome! Are you going to restore it to how it was? That would be cool. Also are those originaly valve covers or re-pops. And don't tell me those are the original Edelbrock boxes?

Thanks, The car is a time machine and will go back together late 50's early 60's style.I am also leaving this weekend to pickup a 61, 394 and a 53, 303 so no sbc. for this Olds. It came w/ a rebuilt T-10 4 speed so I need to choose stick or automatic.
The valve covers, boxes and old 1962 newspaper wrapping them are originals. The previous owner must have spent many a pay check at Vic Hubbards speed shop and I have a dog eared catalog from 1964 to prove it.
The car also came w/ a Weiand log intake w/ 6 n.o.s. Stromberg 97's, Scheifer aluminum flywheel and clutch all in original boxes. It has a ton more parts for a suspension rebuild all bought from Vic Hubbards in 1964.
