Looks like a teens or '20s steamer, given the wooden wheels and steering wheel, but I have no idea of the brand or actual vintage. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...7275&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT#v4-35
Someone contact Jay Leno! He or his private mechanic should know what this is! Jay is on this board, right???
Whats really wierd about that thing is that it looks to have a twin cylinder running through a trans and 2speed rear axle, and two more twin cylinder engines running chain drives to the rear wheels. Judging by the plumbing, bracketry, and the redundant driveline I think this might be some kind of home cobble job. I think its a late twenties vehicle because of the four wheel brakes, and I also believe it had a gasoline engine up front at one time.
Home made for sure. Kinda makes me wonder what they will think of the stuff we build 80 years from now.
That is an odd layout. I wonder if the rear jugs were compounded off the front or if they had their own pot and burner ??? Just an off the wall thought here, but with that much [potential] torque, it may have been a purpose built towing rig of some sort. Cool piece. I've always been fascinated with steam cars.
Wow very cool! Seems like you might be able to grab it for a decent price as well. Just dont have a clue what you would do with it.
