I am building a street rod and have the front axle, rear axle, engine, clutch, and transmission out of an early (19-20) Dodge. The engine and rear end are free and turn with the crank. The transmission shifts smoothly. I have a guy interested in buying this stuff, any idea what I should ask for it? I have no clue. Thanks

What you and he agree to as a fair price - that is what it is worth.

What you have to sell is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. What anyone else thinks its worth is unimportant.

If it was stuck, I'd say s**** price, but since the engine turns, I'd say $300 for the pile. It has value, but you dont' want to price it too high, because there isn't much of a market for that stuff, it might sit around for a LONG time if you don't sell to this guy.

Don't s**** it, someone will put it to use. Weigh it, fine out what s**** is bringing, sell it for that or more. Shipping costs are what will limit interested buyers. If you have someone local that wants it give him a deal on it.

Ask him to make an offer, you might both be surprised. You building a street rod or a hot rod???

  8. Look in some recent copies of Hemmings and see if anyone's tried to sell one lately. or on eBay. Although if I had that stuff I'd put it in Hemmings because the old farts who restore them are more likely to see it in there.

Otherwise, get a price list from the nearest you-pull-it yard and charge accordingly - in my case it would be motor $150 (average of two places), trans $110, rearend $45. Which coincedentally also works out to about $300. They don't show a price for an I-beam front axle, probably because the odds of one turning up in one of those yards are about 1 in 10,000.
