I am looking at buying an F350 crew cab dually for a tow rig. I am wanting to put air bags in it for nice ride when MT and still have the load capacity. This isn't to make it into a rocker dragger, I will just use a ride height valve with a dump for hooking up trailer. I am thinking of building a four link rear suspension. Does anyone have a source for HD suspension components? I am thinking of 4x4 stuff, it should be nice and sturdy. Poly bushings would prolly be best..... Bill
We had what was referred to as a Granning on an e350 several years ago. the leaf springs were replaced with a single leaf on each side with air bags in the back. It was a lot of grief, the way they located the axle to the leaf was poor and it was hard to keep it from moving. The current means of getting a nice ride with a E350 or E450 is with a mor ryde. The rear spring shackles are replaced with rubber shear blocks. Might be worth looking into. B
ditto. A friend has a Kelderman rear bag/shackle kit on his F-250. The unloaded ride quality went from kidney killing brick to Cadillac.
That's a very cool set up. I was trying to source the rod ends to build my own 4 link and air bag system. It should be a pretty affordable thing to build. Thanks for the help!! Bill
