thought this thread died a long time ago, but anyways...I stripped the car of parts I wanted and sold the car to a guy here on the HAMB from Ohio, I think were both happy with the deal and now that the Cadillac is sold as well I have much more money to put into a '54, which I believe I may have found one in Indiana

 

After you chop it, section it, stick Packard tail lights where the fins were, and slap on a DeSoto grille, nobody could tell it was once a Poncho anyway. For $800, I think you're overthinking the issue.

 

I like the Pontiac or Olds better then the early 50's Chevy's ... and I love Chevrolets ... Friend of mine back when had a 50 Olds with a 394 Olds engine ... car was fast ...

The fins are why I would keep it!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I checked with my cousin (who buys and sells Pontiac parts) and it appears a lot of sheet metal behind the firewall will interchange (except of course the distinctive Pontiac dash) so replacing sheet metal shouldn't be a deterrent from purchasing the Pontiac

 

I trade 5 chevys to get a pontiac
