Bad Bob just said what I was thinking! Cool car, any more info on its history? Sorry if I missed an earlier thread.

Besides the through cleaning (which looks like you're taking care of in fine fashion) that thing is begging for a dropped axle and a hot rodded 24 stud flathead...........PERIOD, FINISHED, DONE!!!! Am I making myself clear?:D

Yes, it's a little high in the front. I have a reversed eye spring should drop it 2 inches. Maybe more later with an axle. I have a '48 24 stud with Offy 2X2 and heads in the works. But for now just want to get it running and drivable.

The last owner bought it 1958 for $10. He painted with laquer, he owned a paint supply place and he did the upholstery. That was his job before the paint shop. He replaced the original engine with the current rebuilt 1936 21 stud and converted to 40 front and rear brakes. It has new running boards, gas tank and was converting it to a rumble seat. I'm going back to a trunk. I found the hinges and hardware to convert back. He had new bumpers which, I am putting back on. I need to look for the inner front brackets. I found everything else for them.

He never had it registered or driven on the street, just in and out of the shop.

Thanks, I am going to leave the colors just like it is.

I tried firing her up today. It wants to start. It fires and wants to run but the fuel pump leaks like a sieve so I need to replace that before I continue.

It would be a shame to change anything on that.

I got it running today! Sort of! It will start after I changed the leaking fuel pump on the 21 stud engine but it wont stay running. I'm going to swap the carb from the '48 59AB engine and see if will keep running. Next, bleed the brakes and check front wheel bearings, trans and rear fluid and see if will drive!
Here is some pictures of it all cleaned up.

This is the worst part the back of the cab and trunk lid. But I'm going to leave it as is and just drive it.

Here's the engine back from the machine shop with the Offy heads and intake manifold.

  29. Wow, looks great as is.:D

  30. Well after seeing it in person, before and after, all I can say is "Wow!" I'll chime in and agree that I wouldn't do much more than give it a lower stance and drive it. That crazed paint is character and history. Those fenders are pristine! What you need now is a Bonnie and Clyde get up - striped suits and a Thompson.

Thanks for the open house. I ate too much, again.
