i need some info on removeing the rear window stainless trim and reinstall. do you remove the trim first than gl*** if so how and do you install gl*** and than install trim? any special tools? 53 ford 2dr sedan

Remove stainless trim first wih acouple of flat blade screwdrivers prising upwards gently in small steps' Then bend aflat blade screwdriver to 90 degrees and slowly prise rubberseal outwards while someone inthe car pushes outwards at same time. in most cases it is recommended to reinstall gl*** with anew rubber seal .DEARBORN CL***ICS provide instructions.with there windscreen seal and you will most likely need new clips to refit stainless trim. If the stainless sits in a slot in the rubber, it comes out with the gl***. I've never pulled Ford, but similar era Chevy/GM is that way. I pulled and installed gl*** for one of mine without any special tools, but a hard plastic s****er is nice to have to run between the gl*** and the rubber, and the body and the rubber, to loosen it up.
From the 1952-54 Ford Shop Manual you need to remove the inner trim mouldings and cut out around the seal to push out the gl*** and trim as a unit, to install the new seals with a groove the trim and seal go in as a unit the front trim does have a small screw on each end of the trim.
