Another update to the old girl, got it tore down and threw some gaskets on the engine and trans and checked the bearings. Threw some paint down, moving the battery to the trunk to clean things up under the hood and putting on a new master cylinder. This was my first time painting with a air gun and I am happy with the results, not perfect but I can learn from my mistakes. Got the wife involved!
Also bought a factory radiator to do away with that ugly electric fan and also doing away with the electric fuel pump somebody installed...
More pictures, slowly making headway. Engine paint is VHT metallic burnt copper, I think it will look good in the white engine bay....I hope anyway. Still need to bleed and install new master cyl. and run brake lines, install engine and trans, move battery and......ughhh Need her up and moving by the fourth of June, wish me luck! Me and my non-OSHA approved dust mask Engine getting some love
Was wondering what u had been up too. Engine bay and engine are looking good! I used the VHT Gold metalflake for my new sbc for the chevelle. Keep us informed with the updates
Thanks for the kind words! I saw that you were looking at some flaked top options for the Chevelle in another thread. That would look really cool! Did you like the way the Gold came out on your small block?
NICE! Great job and congrats on painting it yourself! I dig the copper motor. very nice work. thanks for sharing! peace
yeah Im knocking around a few options. I'll post some pics of the sbc soon. I love the way it turned out! The vht paint really covers good.
Cool, looking forward to it. I thought the paint covered well also. Hope to see you out and about this summer, possibly goodguys.
I JUST SOLD A ONE OWNER 62 COMET S-22 . YOU GOT TO LOVE EM . TECH. TIP ........ DON'T GET DRUNK & FALL AGAINST THE TAILLIGHTS . "runnin in the fast lane ..... on a gravel road "
Love them Comets also, sounds nice. I will have to quit drinking around the taillights in the garage.
Got the rails and crossmembers undercoated....more work tommorow. Hope to get brake lines ran and engine sat back in at least....
Okay, got some more progress. Could not find any brake fitting after going to five different parts stores... had three of them try and sell me compression fittings, no thanks! So no brakes but did get engine in, trans in, radiator in and lines rans from rad to trans and linkages installed. Working on header install after my lunch.
