Seeking sources for people/shops who do quality repairs on cracked flathead blocks. Appreciate any referrals sent my way. Read a 2009 Rod & Custom article over the weekend where the author alluded to the possibility of someone making new flathead blocks but he didn't elaborate. See below. Flathead Water Pumps - Pumped Up Plotting The Evolution And Rebirth Of The Flathead Water Pump From the February, 2009 issue of Rod & Custom By Chris Shelton "Which brings up another point: Now that we sort of know what we're doing with the Flathead, the pool of useable blocks is plum near gone. Not to fear, however; they're coming, too." Thanks.
Check here for a new block............. http://www.motorcityspeedequipment.com/content.asp?page_id=newblock
There is a good experienced shop in Nevada Iowa now owned by Arnold Motor Supply which is a small auto supply store chain in Iowa and Minnesota. They did one recently for me. They will inspect the block and determine if it is a candidate for welding. Search for an Arnolds store maybe in southern Iowa that will transport the block to Nevada for you or deliver it yourself.
