I don't have pics but that's about the perfect set-up for a 54 Chevy without doing major modifications. Then again, without doing the search myself, I guess I don't know your set up. I should note, I'm talking about a car with the stock drivetrain.
Just a heads up. I got the three inch lowering springs for my 62 Galaxie (obviously not the same car) and it was really too low and undriveable. Those guys at Jamco were nice enough to exchange for some new ones though so keep that in mind if you aren't happy.
Just drop it brother, the experience will roll you for a long time, enjoy it, enter those driveways at a 45 degree angle you will be fine.
Below is a customers car. He has 3" coils & Dropped Uprights with dropped steering arms in the front and 5" blocks out back. This is the description he sent with his pic: "Here are some pics of my '54 delray, you made me some 3"drop springs that ride like a dream! i used your dropped uprights and steering arms for a perfect drop. got 5" blocks out back with air shocks.I can't tell you how happy I am with how it turned out. - Matt Hope this helps.
Sweet, I just did the same front drop on my 51 Ford. I also picked up a set of 3" leaf springs from "yall" (Jamco). I then stared at the blocks at the 4x4 shop eventually choosing the 2" blocks. Looks like I made the right call. Cant wait to get the rear end back in there!
Be sure to post pix when you finish. I have similar issue; how low to go w/ stock equipment. Also, can you see anything in that rearview peep mirror on p***enger side? Thanks.
I'm thinking about purchasing Jamco springs front and rear for my '51, let me know how yours turns out. Come on Jamco, cut us a package deal for two set ups!!!!!
Ya thats is my buddies blue car. It rides REAL nice. He did end up putting air shocks in the rear for when he has heavy stuff in the trunk. With the 5 inch blocks, there isnt a lot of room between the axle and the frame.
posies and 3" blocks were too much for the stock frame on my 53. I have an open rear, which "raises" the body and frame from the axle by an inch compared to the stock torque tube.
