    Does anybody have any idea as how to run a vintage trailer license plate on a vintage camper? I searched all over the DOT Washington State website, and only found how to use vintage plates on Cars/Trucks.... Anybody out there got the skinny? Anybody running them?

    Call the DOT, I have resurrected many an old plate, but i admit, never on a trailer....
    Restored a few old trailers, right down to the matching Melmac, please let us know what they tell you.

    I have been told you can not run vintage plates on a trailer. I tried on my '58 vintage boat trailer.

    Roughneck;
    That site is too cool. I heard something similar; but the other way around. Find a vintage plate, and get a new "custom" plate (personalized) to match it. Then run the vintage plate....
    I will keep feeling out the DOT and see what I can get away with....

    I went to the dmv about runnig a 1936 trailor plate on my mullins (which I found out was the first yr for trailor plates in Wa.) and they said I couldn't run it. I figured it was the loss of revenue on the yearly plate fees. What I thought of doing was to run both the plates back to back with the old one showing? Ho knows.

    Several years ago when I changed ***le of my '47 homemade ultility trailer to my name they asked me if I wanted antique plate status. I won't register anything I have with a "special status" registration. My trailer is ***led as a '47 box trailer, with current regular liscense. I use it to haul all the time.
