I am considering installing Bear Claw latches in my brothers 56 Ford F-100. Has anyone used the following kit and how did it work out regarding fit and ease of installation? He wants to keep the stock outside and interior door handles. The kit I am looking at is: Altmans Easy Latch Kit, from Trique Manufacturing. Plain Steel ($250.00 kit) and is described in the add as: Neat, clean, easy to install, solves lots of problems. All the engineering and guesswork is done. Uses locking bear claw latches, which are included and assembled as shown with all the linkage and plates for your f-100. (will not fit any other makes or years, sorry) Uses stock door handles inside and out, and stock outside key lock.! Plates can be welded or bolted in, and cover the only small cut made. Striker and pin are included and bolt on, covering the original striker location. perfect for an already painted truck, Really neat kit !!!! Part Number: 1109. I am particularly concerned about whether the latch and linkage installation interferes with the window glass going up and down. Thanks, JIM

    hey jim,

i used these on my 55 f100 a couple of years ago and love them.
very easy to install, well made, no interference issues. took about 40 mines per side.
a lot of guys on the fte have used them with the same results.
got mine from mid fifties before trique had a website.
