Can it be done, Model A Speedo with a 350/350T

Trying to keep the interior looking stock as possible, and would love to run the old speedo (in good looking/working order) can I run it with my 350, or is there not a cable that will mate the two. Anybody do it?

I'm running a T5 in a Model A with the original speedo. The Ford speedo cable screws right onto the trans. The downside is, the A speedo only goes to 80 MPH. It's against the peg most of the time.

 

sweet, keep it up, gotta love it when the needle has nowhere else to go. I havent bought my speedometer cable yet, this is my only "modern" motor, my flathead and Straight 8 are all old as well, so if I use the model A speedo, what cable do I need to get to work with the 350 turbo trans, is it a universal one, or something specific. Sounds like yours is the model A cable, or am I misreading? Sorry for the dumb question.

 

same question and the same desire 'cept the coupe has a muncie. Has anyone gotten that combination to work?

 

I just used a standard re-poped Model A cable from a Model A parts supplier. All I know is, it screwed into the BW T5 and has worked flawlessly for 5 years and many miles.

 

Humm, I have a T-5 and am using an original S-W made Model A speedo in my dash. Nice tip.

 

I used the stock cable to screw into my stock speedo and 350 trans but haven't driven it yet........
