Well I took my 1929 coupe over to DCR a couple weeks ago to get a few things done. I have never built a rod and had a deal worked out with Derek from DCR and one of his friends to help me on my coupe. I must say Derek who owns and runs DCR is one of the coolest and smartest guys I know. I dont know how he knows so much?? Its amazing. Well he called me and said he was going to work on chopping my coupe this past weekend and I told him I want to come help him, so he said come one. Well I get there and I originally wanted to chop it 3.5 and Derek jokingly said lets chop it 6, ( well im also almost 6'5) so I said lets chop it 4. So we get started prepping the car for the chop, I was asking a ton of question the hole time, but like I said I havent never done anything like this. So we get it marked out and start chopping. Well it went quick and smooth and it was chopped in a short time. Pics are below of the the chop, it hasnt been welded yet but I think its going to look awesome. By the way im buildinga 1950's style hot rod. Thanks again Derek. http://picasaweb.google.com/106647558734802689014/ChopTop#
