  4. Very nice Ford!

Makes me wonder why anyone would even give a second look at one of those ugly, turd, Checker cab lookin' '55 Chevies.

It's the only one I have while I'm at work. It's good from far but far from good.

I have a 55 fordor and in the middle of rebuilding a 302 to replace the Y block . I drive as I repair so I can have fun ! Mine is in my avatar . That was from the Jalopy Showdown in Pa last year . I am also rebuilding a mean 460 that I thought about putting into the 55 Ford but won't be able to afford the fuel so the 302 with Thumper Comp cam with a C4 or T5 will be the ticket for mine . Once it runs real good , I will finish the body work and paint it . The comes the interior !
If you need to know where to get parts , just ask !
Good Luck with your 55 Ford !

It's chopped 4in and sectioned 2in, windshield is sunk and the back window is layed down.

  16. My Vicky is in my avatar. Still looking for someone around Omaha who'd be interested in doing body work/paint. Everyone I've talked to so far in Gretna's turned up their noses at me.

Here's a picture of mine before she was torn apart for a frame off and trailing arm setup and airbags all around.

I wish i still had my 55 conversion. Took a nice Old lady 4dr, whacked it through the windshield and floor, and clipped on a 56 hardtop. Got the 56 from a restorer who wasted it for the floorpan. Got even with the Restorer's by telling them it was a Crown Victoria that I shaved the chrome off of.

I would have loved to have found a wagon that was in the shape your's is in ! I got this thing for wagons and have had a good few of them over the years . Some I wish I really still had .
How did you do your front end ? Straight axle or something different ?
I really like the way the Gasser style looks on a wagon ! I thought about replacing the front end on my 44 Ford with one . My steering box sucks and if I have to change that I am going with something different .

Still got the stock front end, in the picture I spaced the upper ball joints under the a-arm rather than in the a-arm. I'm not going to run it this way as I think it will throw off the geometry. I was going to head in the gasser direction, but decided not to, its going to be running air bags now.
