Its that time again for the hot rodders to invade my hometown, really look forward to this every year. I was just wondering how many folks on here are gonna make the trip? Good show and a great place to visit. Look forward to seeing some nice cars and some really cool rust.
Looks like we have a few Kats heading over real early Friday morning. We are staying off of the slab and heading up hwy 60. Looking forward to the trip. Krobe's ride Gary Mundy Happy Trails, Mick
Heck, if your in Baxter Springs your just a hop, skip and a jump from old Route 66. The drive from Joplin on into Springfield is nice and the road is in good condition. Lots of neat old "stuff" to look at too.
Mick, if you want to take a short break, a stop at Red Oak II just east of Carthage is worth the time. Just before that, stop and take a picture of the Flying Manure Spreader on the north side of the highway past Kellogg Lake. See ya Friday. John
I was just thinking, I may not make it to Springfield with all of this kool stuff in between Joplin and Springfield. The Flying Manure Spreader sounds way too kool to p*** up.... Thanks for the advice guys, it looks like that we will have to leave earlier then 8:00. Happy Trails, Mick
Mick Red Oak II is worth the stop if for nothing else just the photo op in front of the old gas station! I will have to look you guys up if I get out there. Sadly the old Galaxie is STILL NOT finished...ARG! I am suppose to be working at the Ozark Raceway Park Drag Track this weekend running the computers - they have a HUGE Shoot Out going on this weekend....so if you guys are looking for somehting to do in the eveings you may want to take it in. Between it and the NSRA show there is going to be more for a car guy to do in the Springfield area than can fit into two days! I just hope the annual Memorial Day weekend/Saturday morning rain stays away....it is looking like an awesome weekend from the local weathermans point of view....lets just hope it stays that way! Have a safe drive. Larry
I was just in Springfield/ Branson last weekend. Seriously considering driving back over for this. Shows just don't quite do it for me, I like the racing. Convince me I need to make the trip, if I do I'm sure I'll wind up at Ozark for the Shootout, I know it'll be a killer show.
Convince ya?? Travis (two tall okie) will be in Springfield this weekend. That is the best I can do. Wahoo! Just gotta room at the Best Western, It Kool to be in the middle of it. Looking forward to Saturday & Friday night! Happy Trails, Mick
The corners of Kearney Street and Glenestone Avenue is the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights, there will be TONS of cars cruising the strip and folks lined up 10 deep in lawnchairs trying to get a peek. Should be, no make that WILL be a great time.
Is there a car show or something in Springburg this week end? Where's it at? See you there Mick and Travis. Try to keep travis under wraps Mick. Later, ****
I was heading north on 54 out of Lake of the Ozarks and spotted a real nice 37 Zepher smoking and pulling over. I turned around to lend a hand. It seems that a fitting going from the compressor to the tank had blown out. I helped him pull it apart and gave him a ride to the parts store to jurry rig a temp fitting. He said that when he gets to the show he will grab a part from air ride. He wanted to pay me but I said that if I was ever broken down I hoped someone would do the same for me. Drive safe and have fun.
I'm going to be set up in the swap meet area on Friday and Saturday, will have some old tin and some 60's Mustang and Ford stuff. Stop by and say hi.
We will be there with the 35, its yellow with twin black stripes up over the top. Hope to see some of you there.
if you know what he needs let me know. i have a few friends heading up that way on friday am. and im going sat am. i have alot of fittings in my shop and if i dont have what he needs i can get it today.
