We started to work on the front end and found both front spindles have had the lower zerk fittings ripped from what used to be the threaded holes. The spindles seem to be hard to find items. Anyone ever faced this problem?

Can you drill out the holes, re-tap for a larger size and then use an adapter to get back to the original zerk threads?

I gotta see if I can make the holes round enuff to hold a tap. They are very oval-ed. It looks bad, wonder if a good metal/epoxy could work once the hole was made round again???

they make larger sized zerks so simply drill and tap to next size up zerk, quick and simple fix that i have done for years. only had single clearance issue and i simply greased the part then removed the zerk, installed threaded plug. it only takes a second to re-install the zerks and unless it's a daily driver you might do this 2 times a year. at this point you have probably spent more time thinking about the fix than you would in all the time you'll own the truck.
