heres a pic today did a ton of little brush touch ups on door edges etc...
new paint was still to soft to wet sand and buff

pic with some 16 inch full disc chevy caps i got my hands on today..the full caps really make the car now in my opinion!!

putting new trim that goes around the back beltline tomorrow since mine was screwed on.

That really looks nice! So, did all this stem from you just wanting to freshen up the dash, originally? I like the end result, in any case. Very nice car.

    thanks guys..

richard d the angle is off it points towards the door and needs about another 2 inches added to the bottom . really kinda disappointed.

i put all new beltline trim on from the door back since it was screwed on..dont understand people with screwing on trim. and its not like this trim is easy to find i bought a whole car to get it haha.

heres the latest thing that was bugging me ****ty rubber mats
new ones are 238 dollars hmmm **** that for sumthing i am going to step on.

thank god this was a cali car or else i would have just opened up a can of worms. 2 pieces of metal resting against each other eaquals bad news.

a little wire brushing and some por 15 and we are ready to go

so my buddy said he had some corrigated plastic i say yeeah this is gonna look great (sarcasm) so i go and look at it and i will be damned verrry close to the same exact thing the og rubber mats are. this is from something to do with swimming pools if you guys are looking for it.

put in the same haphazard screw holes from the chevy mat and ill be *******ed a free set of mats

later last night i gotta hair up my *** about wetsanding the hood and what else could happen besides the buffer deciding to break!! so i hand rubbed the hood out because i was in one of those moods where i just wanted it done.

not to shabby i dont think for my first time doin major body work and paint all myself

got the front all back together

its weird how the light works with this color.. its so many different colors in different lighting

its crazy how this thread was supposed to be interior driven and there is barely any interior work to show hahah

just talked to ezboy they said they interior should be here next week

Nice car I'm trying to get my 47/48 done. Those little lights in the rear might have been a backup light from another model. I've seen them before. I ended up powder coating my dash and inside trim . I wish I had the original gauges but the panels rusted away before I found out I could have converted them to 12 vols. nice.

well i got all my panels upholstered quite the learning experience

heres what ya need. 9 million razor blades. a bunch of spray glue.. buy it in bulk it will be cheaper then home depot. and some of these clips .... if ya need a part number i can get it for ya.

got the little clips from the local auto upholstry place drilled holes into the masonite and into the door where i wanted the masonite to sit. make sure your edges are smooth or it will show. lay the tuck and roll down under your panel and cut the foam away that is in excess.then use your spray glue let it set up and pull your material over the board tight. also left about an 1/8 inch of foam around the edge of the panels looks better then if ya cut it flush. also make sure ya get your lines square and always start with a full pillar on the edge that is going to be seen the most when you are using the premade tuck and roll.

    close pic of the clip

my buddy told me about these little clip because there is nothing worse then seeing upholstery held on with screws.

also they dont show at all when the tuck and roll is over them

    back of the car
no back seat because its a biz coupe so tuck and roll everywhere back there

deetails. had to do the firewall couldnt leave it well enough alone

all of the panels are in all the new chromed garnish moudlings in . still have to do some heat gun work on the panels to get some wrinkles out but im verrry happy with the way it turned out

the real jobs gotten busy again !! so havent had time do do the seats or carpet yet.

also found out the manual staple gun pack way more kick than an electric had much better results.

wanna know how i did anything please ask away!

    can complain to much tom
motor ya sold me is almost done for this car. when all said and done it ended up have a stock 261 bore. 54 crank with a ton of weight cut off. 261 rods and pistons, steel billet cam that came in it. magnesium rockers aluminum timing gears aluminum flywheel.228 gmc oil pump. t5 ****** is going behind that mess hopefully it all holds together. all of that madness and it will still look like a little 216.

    thanks again guys

yup unsetteled the clips just pop through your board you upholster over them and then snap your panel in place . i think the hole was 15/64th just a rch under a quarter inch
