I'm looking for a replacement radiator for my 57 f100. The truck has a 351W and a C4 auto in it. I'd really like to put an aluminum one in it. Has anyone else done this (i'm sure at least one of you have)?? If so what brand did you use and what size is it?

Other than an aftermarket one made for a '57 (expensive) I don't think you will find much that will look right without the large top tank. I looked into this when I needed a new radiator for my '54 and finally took mine to a quality radiator shop that built a 3 core into the original. Works great, looks right and was cheaper than buying a new one. Good luck with you search.

Take some measurements and see if a 61-67 Ford truck with a 292/352/390 might work. I did a transplant years ago doing that and had to move the brackets some but from what I remember worked okay.

I believe I used a 1976 Bronco radiator in mine it need a small amout of changes and was relatively cheap (at the time) I put one in my 1960 with a 223 six four speed so ****** cooler was not a problem I also did the heavy four core rebuild in a crewcab (60) with a 390/410 and a C-6 and I had to make a ****** cooler from scratch based on the ****** cooler Ford used on period 57 to 60 truck with an automatic my ****** cooler was made frome stainless steel with about fifteen to eighteen tubes running from top to bottom througha bulkhead and coolant ran around the tubes frome the waterpump to the radiator it workedwell the trans temp was never highter than about 15 to 20 drgrees higher than coolant.

  5. I had a 68 Impala radiator in my '60 F-100, fit like it belonged there, and I also had a 351W in mine. Just go to the junkyard and find something that matches up for cheap. Aluminum radiators are for racecars.
