I was wondering what all your thoughts are on this Pro Series RB2 12,000 lb hitch? It's for my 10,000 lb trailer and I was told it was a Reese when I bought it.

No where on it does it say Reese but it does say made in China so I started doing some research and it is made or imported by these guys. http://www.towingproducts.com/Default.aspx It looks like they have bought out many of the reputable hitch manufacturing companies(including Reese) but also import hitches from over seas.

Now I also found out that there is Reese,

and Reese-Hitches(not owned by Cequent Towing Products)

So at this point I'm not sure if I have a good Reese quality hitch or some cheap piece of junk.

For what it's worth this kit was $300 CDN and a real Reese hitch just up the road is $400 CDN.

What do you guys think, should I keep it or spring for the more expensive one?

I don't know much about weight distributing hitches and in fact up until last week I didn't even realize that I needed one! That said, it looks okay to me and the most I'll ever be towing is about 8,500 lbs anyways so it shouldn't be overloaded....I hope.

I guess it will work unless it busts up like you say but I'd rather not find that out the hard way!:D

    Here is the actual hitch.

I really thought I was buying a Reese because that's what the sales person told me but now I'm just wondering if it will still be okay or should I opt for a true Reese for the extra $100?
