Hey guy's I'm trying to find the vin number on my 1932 flat head so I can register my car but I'm having problems finding it, All I can find is 2 numbers and a letter. Am I going in the right direction or just chasing my tail.

Your '32 engine has no numbers that are relevant to registration. A serial number was assigned at the engine plant when the transmission was mated to the engine. The number was then stamped into the bell portion of the transmission case. The assembly was then shipped to an assembly plant where, once the engine/trans was installed in the chassis, the number read and manually stamped into the frame. If the original transmission is still available you can get the number from it. (Highly unlikely though.)

  4. To expand on Dale's information. The number on the frame is located on the top side of the left frame rail just before the cowl, The number is usually visible without removing anything (unlike the Model A). The number is also stamped two other places on the top of the left frame rail under the body.
