I have in the shop this roadster, built in 53 and now being rebuilt by the son of the original builder.
Check out some of the "back in the day" stuff on this car. The dad did all the work, from the upolstry to the frame, he did it his way.

I would like to identify the rearend, steering box and the master cylinder.
The owner does not want to make any big changes, just put it back on the road.

I am adding boxing to the frame and a k member. Seems the Hemi engine would crack the windshield when he got on it. over and over again.

If you could help identify the parts, great, otherwise enjoy the pics.
I will be adding more, this car is quite unusual.

Rearend picturs will be in the next post

Steering box looks to be F-1 pickup, rear looks to be a DANA, probably from the same F-1 pickup. MC looks too tall and skinny to be F-100...should be a number on it and a good brake guy can probably help you out on it.

same here dana 44 rear and f1 box

  7. That's definately a Dana rear, and an F-100 steering box. The master cylinder looks like the ones out of the later Ford trucks. That may be a 49-51 Mercury Dana 41 rearend.

I know what all those parts are but I'm not telling until I see pics of the whole car.

I know Ford used the tag method on the 9inchers for identification, s****e around the diff housing and see if there are any casting numbers.
I believe most people here think its F100 rear, it looks like a Ford to me, as is the mastery cylinder.

I think the steering wheel is a chevy?

The M/cyl is a mid 50s Ford car unit. Mine is a 56 Ford car but I'm sure it was used on many years including the ones listed above.

The steering box is F1 (underslung). The F100 has the worm above the sector.

Hey, thanks for all the help! :)
Here are the pics that I have now.
Wait till you see the track T nose he made.
    The nerf bars are solid!!!
The Hemi motor was held on with the 2 bolts you can see in the picture (3/8") and the trans just sat on 2 arms, no bolts.

The windshield is a cut down and upsidedown something or another, cant remember.

    Thanks again for the help
