The ceiling in my garage is too low for a four-post lift, and I've just been offered a Kwik-Lift for about 2/3 of retail. The seller is one of the older guys in my club, and doesn't plan on building any more cars. Anybody using one of these? TIA, *****6.
Are you talking about a scissor type lift? If so they have good and bad points, but you'd have to kill me to get mine out of the shop.
This isn't a sissors lift, its a pair of ramps that sit flat on the floor for storage @ 5" high. One end gets raised, one ramp at a time, and the leg for the ramp locks into place. After you drive your car onto the ramps, the low end can be raised to about 20" level with a floor jack, and then the other pair of legs locks into place. This puts the frame at around 25-30" off the floor. This model has a bridge to support a bottle jack so that wheel and brake maintenance can be done, one wheel at a time.
Have been using one for the past three years and would not be without it. Not only is it good for under the car, it is excellent for working under the dash, especially if you are old and fat like me. I usually leave one of my cars parked on it untill I need it for something else. If you do not want it for 2/3's price, let me know and I will take it off his hands.

I don't have one but I worked under one just recently. They are very nice, makes things very easy. later plmczy
O.K., I know that this should really be in the cl***ifieds, but for the guys who said they'd like another, cheap, check out this link. http://montgomerystreetrods.com/cl***ified.htm Its in the Montgomery, AL, area. The one I got didn't have the wheels, but my garage is too small to roll it around anyway. Later, *****6
I won one at York about a year ago. It has its good and bad points. I have a small shop so it sometimes gets in the way. It doesn't lay flat so I can't park on it when I'm not using it. It is heavy moving it without some help ****s. I do like the safe feeling when working under it. It gives you alot of room to work. I mine wasn't free I don't if I would spend the money for a new one.
I have been debating between a Kwik-Lift and a Scissor lift and Im torn. Im leaning more towords a scissor lift. Has anyone made there Kwik lift use any center bridge Jacks like on an alightment rack?
I have looked at the kiwk-lift for the same reasons, my garage is not high enough for a 4 post lift. It does look like a really good unit ,I am going to have to have a closer look at this this summer. It beats the jack stands, that for sure.
My cousin is the owner/operator/distributor/inventor if the Kwiklift, and they are located here in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Danny's a good guy, and I'd love to have one of my own lifts as well!
Mine lays flat, they all lay flat. I park my car on it all the time. You have to take the front pieces off the ramp parts. I'am an old fart and I can do it by myself.
