Milan Dragway Picture thread

I thought I would try to start a Milan Dragway picture thread. So here it is. My pictures are newer. Feel free to post your own pictures. New and old are welcome.

I got an autographed 3D Poster and picture with Ronnie Sox under that big tree in the third pic.

 

That sounds awesome! You should post a picture of it. That big tree has been there forever.

Mattbee, Sorry I won't be there Friday. They don't really have a cl*** for me on Fridays.

Ran today. Ran 9.00 in 87 Degree heat. Got down to six cars.

Here are some pictures that Jim_ss409 took at the Milan nostalgic drags.

 

You know, I always thought hanging the lights from a wire was a better idea than the christmas tree universally in use today. I've seen errant cars take out the tree, but you'd need an instant wheelie from a 300 inch fueler to get to the one hanging in the air. An idea whose time has not yet come? Or come and gone?

 

The hanging lights were a good idea, but the only problem was that some cars could not see the lights and as you said if a car did a wheelie it could hit the lights.

yes that is Pete Gates of the Gate Job fame.

 

Ok thanks, I had heard they were gonna auction off "the Gate-Job", but never heard what it went for, or saw it on Tv...... I will most Likely be at milan next friday, as I usually am there every heads up race. I am in a wheelchair, and easy to spot. I hang out right ON the line, behind the barrier, where alot of the photogs are..... I know Mike Yorsich quite well...... Great guy.......
