i finally got the ok too do my dads 1929 5 window coupe. it was all stock, now we are going the direction of the roadster streetrod he had in 1959, no fenders, bare bones streetrod. no chop, 4 inch channel, i am going too build the frame (thanks too all the good info on here) i have 2 stock frames, but it would be better and stronger with 2x4 steel tube, and i can get the ride height i want. running a 1992 chev 305 roller motor, lt1 cam, stock heads, 1980 3 speed manual out of a 81 el camino v6 car, and thinking of using an s10 rear end, but if width is righ, i may use a g body rear as it has the upper and lower control arm tabs already there, so it makes it a bit easier. so far, i have the body off the frame, interior totally stripped of all flooring, all wood removed except the pieces in the door jamb. i built a wooden mobile table too screw the body too so i could see the ride height i was going for, and move it around easier. now i am going too start on the frame.
