hi all, ive not posted on here for years though i do lurk and learn a lot. cant believe how huge the hamb is now, lots of the old names seem to have gone, whatever happened to germ? anyway, im hoping someone can help me with some info. i want to put a pinto in my model a, i want all else stock, just marry the pinto to the banger ****** i know the banger ****** is pretty ****,i know a pinto is not very traditional , but my engine needs a rebuild and i just cant afford it yet.so, if i can put a pinto in pretty cheaply at least i can run about in it. hope you can help. cheers . steve
Hey Steve, Darren in Birmingham here. Long time, chap. A pinto-to-banger trans used to be a fairly common swap, and I'm pretty sure that a kit used to be available. Tony Cardy used to run a pick-up that he'd imported from the US that had such a conversion but the gearing wasn't great, if I remember rightly. Not sure who owns it now though.
hi darren, yeah long time no see, was hoping to make the meltdown this year but.... that truck is in burntwood, karee has it now(nathans missus) but its a 38 or 39 ****** , not sure if there same bolt pattern as the a? i will have a good look at it at billing . or, if i can find a running banger for decent money..
