  1. ...have you ever seen a tester for one? I got this today from a small swap meet up North from the Santa Maria show.

That's cool as hell. Does it have directions with it? I love old test equipment. I had a loaded 57 Olds 98 that had one but I bought it as a parts car and never tried it.

Not positive, Groucho, but I might have the manual for that out in my shop. I'll check on it tomorrow

You couldn't have put it better, Fraz! Another great idea that was a 1950s technological dead end, like self-levelling suspension and radar brakes.

Apparently new Caddies have this tech now, called Intellieye or something. Would be kinda neat to see if it could be adapted to the old housings.

  8. AAAAAANND, there goes the thread:rolleyes:

  9. Neat score! You can NEVER have TOO many tools;especially once in a lifetime use tools lol.I wasn't aware you could adjust the sensitivity of them.I do remember hearing of some that were super-sensitive and dimmed the lights constantly.Come to think of it;didn't they have a knob to adjust the sensitivity or to turn it off?

the eye tester is cool.....I just bought a stand up tool box (upper and lower) FULL of tools and old test equipment....There is some off brand yapenese hand tools in there but the majority of it is all old Snap On, Proto, Bonney etc....havent really had time to look through it all....I got it all for $25...felt like I did uber good....My point of declaring my score was not to gloat however....but was to say....I dig old **** and cant wait to have the time to go through my stash and clean up and find out what I got....

That said I wanna know what Megan got!!!!

Actually ours works on our '57 Caddy, we do have it disabled however due to it going from high beam to low bean and vice versa too much. We figured that with today's reflective paint on the road signs that it was too much for the '57 technology.

We tell little kids that the autronic eye will zap them up the the alien spaceship hovering above - they either look at us as if we are nuts or look up in the sky for the spaceship.

Love the looks of it though and will not have it removed, what a great idea to have it striped,,,hummm.

That is a really neat find. I would have definitely picked that up if I would have gotten there a little sooner :) :D

I'm not thinking I will go to that swap ever again, Groucho and I got the only two cool things there!

  23. I agree that it's not that good of a swap meet... BUT, I'm already 180 miles from home for the show, what's another 8 miles to the swap? Ya never know what you'll find one day.;).
