For an aluminum short water pump check this one 350283389339 E--y link. I've bought a lot of pieces for my rigs from Skip White and been happy with everything I got and the service is very good.

  6. that water pump is messed up , put on a different "short" pump and it should solve your problem

Yes it took 3 months, he works and has children and projects and so do I, no offense taken, just wanted to clarify. They don't make a lot of specialty parts for FE'S anymore. The pulleys were fine until I changed the balancer to a steel fluid filled balancer. I knew it was thicker but, I figured they off-set the mounting flange face, WRONG and couldn't give me no recommendations! SBC have a lot of different size components so, it might only take you 6 months,LOL.:):):)

  9. you need the water pump pulley from a V8 generator, most of the new ones are made from the alt specs (so i've been told). the pulley back needs to almost touch the water pump casting. like said above put everything on and make sure it's the water pump that's off and not the crank pulley.

My thought as well, sounds like $20 bucks or so will solve your problems...

Hey thanks for all the help guys. I ended up taking my water pump to a machine shop and they pressed down the flange as far as it would go, then I had to use one lower pulley spacer that was .090" thick that I got from granny here on the forum (thanks I really appreciate the help!) and it lined up perfectly.
