Anybody know? I need a set of 40-41 jets. Will the later model Holley 4 barrel jets fit? Thanks in advance, Al
The 94 jets are the same design as used in the later 4 barrel 4150/4160 and most other Holley carbs, but you may have to order the 40s or 41s through Holley, as these might be hard to find in the normal speed and equipment shops. Since Holley/Ford 94s have #51 jets stock, why would you want to jet that lean?
Yep, I ordered a pair of 42's from oreilly's last week, 7$ a pair and 6$ for shipping, aint that nice. but yes they are the same jets as 4bbl carbs.
Thank you to everyone that responded. I just ordered a pair of 41's from Summit. The reason for needing 41's is that I'm running a 354 Chrysler hemi with a factory marine two carb setup (running 2 Holley 94's). This intake has an equalizer "tube" between the front half and the back half of the intake. In fact this manifold unbolts in half....front half and back half. The intake was designed NOT to run progressive linkage. If I run one or the other carburetor, one half of the cylinders would starve as the mixture is only able to travel through the equalizer tube. One of my carbs came jetted with 41's; the other with 51's. Carb with the larger jets is running those cylinders VERY rich. Other plugs being fueled by the #41 jets are burning a much nicer brownish color; more normal. Any helpful thoughts would be welcome! Thanks, Al
Al, One, many of us are running dual 94's with straight linkage-(that's the normal way) and on engines much smaller, like 239" flatheads, 200" Model A bangers, etc. These carbs flow about 160 cfm, less than half of what a later/modern model 2-barrel flows. Two, running jets that small is/probably taking those carbs out of their calibration and design limits-in other words, they won't perform well. Number 49's are about as lean as you want to run a 94. You may have a power valve that is blown or leaking-I know sompin's not rite! I would recommend you make sure both carbs are a matched pair, including boosters, choke plates, 5.5 PV's, floats are set and in good condition, and #51 jets if at or near sea level. Don't forget to sync them, and don't expect high performance on an engine that big.
I have a pair of '94's on my 239 bored .040 and an isky cam, I found the sweet spot with #46 jets after a lot of experimenting. Also running two #4.5 power valves. Jets that small can be hard to find as most of them are much larger for the 4 barrels. I'm suprised summit had them in stock that small.
I just put the #41 jets in both carbs and the result was NO improvement. Had to prove it to myself!! Accelerated well under load(power valves apparrently opening) but did the herky jerky when just cruising. So, I drilled the #41's out with a 1/16" drill bit(.0625). This should equal the Holley #62 jets. Installed them in both carbs and there is an improvement as in better idle and less herky jerky. Question is, I'm at .062 right now....how large would be "normal" in ballpark figures? Basicly a stock 354 with a little cam and light polishing of the runners.
