I did a quick search and found a few builds but I was looking for pictures of 41 - 49 international pick ups. I have a 46 kbs I want to build.

The truck was built by a HAMBer in Weatherford TX. He actually used the running boards from two trucks. As you know the original running boards only went to the back of the cab. He welded two of the running boards together to make one long enough to fill in the space back to the fender. Brilliant! Its a little thing but makes a big difference in the overall appearence of the truck. I can get some close up shots if you need them. Good luck with your build.

Some shots of the running boards would be great. I have thought of doing the same thing. I have several of these trucks.

Here is my 46 as it is now. I plan on putting it on a S-10 frame, with a SBC. I want to shorten the bed and make full running boards.

Here is one just sitting in my shop, a 4x4 project. I have a few others to play with and I've been toying with a Gasser project for one of them, what do you guys think? Cool? Not so cool? If someone has pics of one that have been done like that I would love to see it! Thanks!

Here is my '48 KB........Neat old truck that has some neat logos hiding under the paint. Ballard Implement Company, Sterling Colorado. Apparrently they were a Massey Harris dealer because it is painted on the rear cab.

It is forsale in the classifieds.........too many projects.

What S-10 frame is the best for these? extracab? longbed? shortbed?

Long bed regular cab s-10 or shortbed xtra cab s-10 works best depending on what wheel base your K/KB is the stock short bed K/kbs are 113" wheel base and the long bed k/kb 1-2 are 125" wheelbase the 1 ton longbed K/KB-3 are 130" wheelbase. The s-10 frame on a short bed K/KB will have to be shorteded and on the long wheelbase K/KB the S-10 frame will have to be lengthened of bed shortened. So-Cal Tex yours looks to be a 125" longbed. All k/KBs have a steel bed floor unless they have a aftermarket Knox bed which would have a wood floor. I'am building a 1941 K-2 on a cut down 1985 S-10 longbed chassis cut down to 115" wheelbase and a cut down K/KB long bed, its got a 1980 IH SV345 and a 1997 Dodge 3500 diesel NV4500 Scout 2 dana 44 rearend, fitting the sv345 in the truck was alot of work. The next one is a 1947 KB1 on a cut down S-10 xtra cab chassis to 113" wheelbase and a Short Knox bed, not sure what it will get for drivetrain.

I have a pair of KB2's (125") awaiting their turn. I'm in the planning stages of maybe using my ZJ's 4.0 w/hesco stroker, and 4x4 driveline. Not really HAMB-worthy, but hope to make a DD out of it someday. My mind changes like the wind, so, who knows what'll happen when it comes time for this project.

Any Gasser style? Anybody? I think I'm going to drag the old 1947 into the shop and go crazy. If anyone has a picture of one I would love to see it, even in project phase. Otherwise maybe you could talk some sense into me!

I am just in the process of putting a 1947 KB2 onto an S-10 frame.

I have not bought an s10 yet.

I got the truck without a box. I have since got a box but I am unsure if it is the long or short bed. Do you have any length dimensions for the box only?

  29. Here's a 1941 one ton I just picked up that someone has done some work on. The cab, floor, doors, fenders and runningboards are amazingly almost rust free, except for outside surface rust. I believe it's been here in Arizona all it's life. It has a Monte Carlo frontend with boxed frame rails past the cab. This is my first International, so I'm going to need some advice on this one. Anyone know what rear leaf springs will interchange with the 1 3/4"x 48'" factory springs? I'd like to change the dually rearend out as soon as possible. I never really paid much attention to the older Internationals until recently, they really kind of grow on you.

So how does the S10 frame fit in regards to the front suspension width?
